We are The Alberta Yarn Project, a small co-op retail shop that sources local yarn from producers, artists and crafters from all over Alberta and we sell it from our little shop in Oliver. We host community events and classes and we are committed to building up the fibre arts and local artisans / makers community in Edmonton. We are currently renting one room in a beautiful character house, and would love other crafters, makers and artists to join us in this great house! (Location, location, location! We are on 122nd street in Oliver, 2 blocks from High Street, up the street from Planet Organic and next to the 124th street Grand Market!)
We are looking for you: dedicated crafters, makers & artists who would like making / studio space to work and sell your goods out of. Are you tired of early morning farmer’s markets? Are you running out of space in your basement to work and store all your products? Would you like to be sharing space with other like-minded, passionate Edmonton makers?
We have upstairs and basement studios / mini market rooms, a workshop/classroom space and an adorable yarn shop!
Some ideas to get the creative juices flowing:
A home-away-from-home studio to make all the art and things you could dream of!
A group of folks could share a studio as a mini gallery, sharing wall/table space, cutting down on costs and sharing the open hours.
A shop full of locally made gifts, art and more!
What do you think? Will you build this maker’s space / art centre / local retail shop with us?
If you are interested in participating in any capacity, from renting your own studio or shop to sharing space, please contact Alison at the Alberta Yarn Project: firstname.lastname@example.org
We can arrange a time to meet you in the space, show you around, and connect you with other wonderful makers in our community.
